Here at The Gaming Hub, we are two students who like many, in our free time like to game. One thing which brought us to making this site was the desire for community in gaming, friendships forged in multiplayer games can last a lifetime and it’s important to foster them. So for that reason, we have created a hub built for gamers by gamers!
Meet Jake
I am a 22 year old media and journalism student with a focus on emergent media, a newer form of Mass Communications. I started off gaming on the Playstation 2, when I played Sly Cooper and it’s sequel games. I’ve always been a Playstation kid, playing a variety of first-person shooter games. Over the past few years, I switched over to PC playing a variety of shooter and horror games.
My main game I play is Destiny 2, one of our sponsored games. I thoroughly enjoy its player-versus-player mode(s). I like to play with friends and by myself at times. Gaming has brought tons of joy in my life and allows me to study its craft in emergent media and throughout my personal research studies.
Meet Niles
I am a 23 year old college student, and gamer. Having grown up with a Playstation 2 and a Gamecube when I was younger, my love of games started at a very young age. One of the first games I can ever remember playing and beating with my older brother was Gauntlet Dark Legacy on the Gamecube, which to this day we still make jokes about.
After a few years on consoles, including eventually the Xbox 360, I began to play on the family computer. Starting with countless flash games on various websites, my first proper PC game was actually an old Sim City CD from my father. After that I also fell into finding Minecraft in 2011 and that is likely what sent me on my journey to being a full fledged PC gamer.
