ICYMI: Cayde-6 Returning to Destiny 2 & Marathon Announced
ICYMI: Big news for fans in the gaming community was released earlier this Summer. Bungie, creators of the original Halo and Destiny 1 & 2 brings big news that fans can enjoy.

Destiny 2: Final Shape Teaser Trailer
Fans are super excited to get their hands on more information relating to Destiny 2’s Final Expansion, as part of a 10 year contact, Destiny 2: Final Shape. Based on Bungie’s marketing presence from previous DLCs and seasons, it may be possible there will be few-to-no updates until the Bungie Showcase, set to air on August 22nd, 2023 on Twitch.
Not only are fans excited to get their hands on new information pertaining to the future of Destiny 2, a beloved character makes his way back to the fray. Cayde-6, the hunter vanguard was shot and killed during an attack at the Prison of Elders, Destiny 2’s DLC: Forsaken’s opening mission. The beloved character was originally played by Nathan Fillion, but replaced during the Forsaken mission by Nolan North, as it came down to availability according to an IGN report. No word on if Cayde-6 will remain in the game full time or for a quick cameo. We also aren’t aware if Nathan Fillion or Nolan North will voice Cayde-6. All will be reviled (and then some) in the Bungie showcase later in August.
Marathon – Bungie Reboot
Aside from the teaser trailer and updates on the timeline of Bungie’s Destiny 2 showcase, we now know the next game Bungie has been working on. Marathon the Game is in early development and has been announced via Twitter.

Marathon the Game is based off an earlier game in 1994 developed and published by Bungie. However, this will feel like a Bungie game. Christopher Barrett, Game Director of Marathon has a little insight on how Marathon will be different.
‘The name “Marathon” obviously conjures up visions of the original game from 1994 but this is something new.‘
Christopher Barrett: Finding the right balance is one of the most fun parts of development! We have a tremendous amount of respect for the original Marathon games and, from the very start, we’ve wanted to honor that, especially the mythology, story, and themes of the world. At the same time, our vision for this game is something new. It’s not a direct sequel to the originals, but something that certainly belongs in the same universe and that feels like a Bungie game. Finding those opportunities to nod to the universe’s lore, while also getting to build something different and new has been one of the best parts of developing this game so far.
PlayStation X Destiny 2
Atop of all of the news relating to Destiny 2 & Marathon info, PlayStation and Destiny 2 collabed on some sweet new cosmetics from PlayStation games.
